Boxcross UK is thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent opening day for the brand-new weights gym. With over 500 people coming through our doors, the event was more than just a gym opening – it was a celebration of fitness, community, and the beginning of something truly special for Wisbech.
An Unforgettable Moment
For me, Damien Pearl, one of the standout moments of the day was witnessing the reaction of Samson Dauda when he first entered the gym. Samson, an IFBB Pro and one of the world’s top bodybuilders, had a moment that I’ll never forget. As I walked him through the gym, he suddenly stopped in his tracks, his jaw dropping as he took in the sight of the massive mural we had painted of him on the wall. “So you like it then?” I asked, and he was simply speechless. It was an incredible moment of recognition and respect – one that I believe speaks to the unique environment we’ve created here at Boxcross.

Before the official reveal of the weights gym, Jordan Gill, Brendan Pearl, and Samson Dauda each gave speeches, sharing their vision for the gym and what we’re aiming to achieve for the community here in Wisbech.
Showcasing Our State-of-the-Art Facilities
The day also featured the grand reveal of our new weights gym, equipped with the latest Nautilus strength equipment. We designed the space to be as visually stunning as it is functional, with vibrant murals and top-tier branding to create an environment that’s not only motivating but also highly shareable on social media.
Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a fun bench press competition, and everyone who came received 50% off their first month’s membership. The energy in the gym was electric, with many guests spending time chatting with our pros, getting autographs, and snapping photos.
A New Chapter for Wisbech Fitness
This state-of-the-art facility is a significant addition to Wisbech, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created. The feedback from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees declaring us the best gym in Wisbech. We’re thrilled to report that our membership numbers have grown significantly since the opening, and we’re committed to continuing this momentum.
Local media outlets, including Wisbech Tweet and the Fenland Citizen, were on hand to capture the event, and we’re grateful for their support in spreading the word.
Looking Forward
Since the opening, we’ve already made several improvements and plan to keep investing in the gym. Upgrades to the changing rooms, the addition of sunbeds, new machines, and updates to our cardio equipment are just the beginning. We’re also excited to announce that our focus is now shifting towards opening our next location in Peterborough.
