Damien runs BoxCross day to day. He chose every piece of equipment on the floor and pushed through the £250,000 expansion. He is the reason you will find Nautilus, Hammer Strength, Arsenal Strength, Gymleco, Megamass, Rogue, Rogers Athletic and Cybex here rather than budget alternatives. Operations, facility, community and marketing all sit with him.

Before BoxCross he spent twelve years building businesses with his long-term partner Gareth Watts. Together they co-founded Solar Panel Funding and H2B Windows, both rated number one in the UK in their sectors, inside a portfolio turning over more than £12 million a year.

There is a personal reason he cares about this place. While running those companies he was overweight, pre-diabetic and dealing with fatty liver disease. He lost over 60kg through a complete metabolic reset, reversed the fatty liver and fixed his blood sugar. When he talks about what a gym can do for someone, he is not reading from a brochure.

Jordan is a professional boxer from Chatteris with 33 professional fights and a top-three world ranking at his peak. He held the Commonwealth Featherweight Title, the European Featherweight Title, and the WBA International title three times across Featherweight and Super-Featherweight. In December 2023 he stopped former two-time Olympian Michael Conlan in the seventh round in Belfast.

Boxing is half of his story. The other half is mental health. He has spoken publicly about reaching his lowest point and attempting to take his own life. That experience led him to found the Jordan Gill Next Generation Foundation in 2019, which runs boxing sessions in schools and community centres across Fenland, giving young people a physical outlet and a place where honest conversation happens naturally. Cambridgeshire County Council commissioned the charity to deliver boxing during the Covid summer programmes.

When BoxCross opened, Jordan said it was probably the best gym he had ever been in, and he has trained all over the world. His coaching standards run through everything that happens on the pads and in the ring, from children picking up gloves for the first time to adults who want serious sparring.
